Camporee Packing List

This is going to be such a fun and exciting adventure for all of us! As we are preparing, there are a few things we need to keep in mind. Girls will need to be able to carry their own stuff during a semi-lengthy walk up a mild incline. By this I am saying, pack light. Take only what you absolutely need to get through the camp-out. But make sure you have everything you will need because we will not have the ability to go back and get it. That being said, the packing list is below:

  • Sleeping bag rated to 20 degrees or less
  • Extra blankets/ fleece liner
  • Pillow
  • Flashlight
  • Personal hygiene and sanitary supplies
  • Appropriate clothing
  • Closed toed/closed heeled shoes (2 pair)
  • Extra socks
  • Warm pajamas
  • Jacket or parka
  • Towel and washcloth
  • Poncho/rain gear
  • Sun Hat
  • Knit hat for sleeping in
  • Water bottle
  • Bandana
  • Sunscreen
  • Insect repellent
  • Back/Daypack
  • Disposable Camera (optional, please no "real" cameras)
  • Money/Activity credits for trading post
  • A snack to share (this will be given to the leaders to keep with the rest of the food)
  • One special stuffed animal or doll to snuggle and night and to participate in a tea party
  • ONE PENNY FOR EACH GIRL
  • If you have any old uniforms, bring or
wear them to our opening campfire
    and All Camp activity.
  • Dance costume from your favorite
    decade (optional)
  • Tapestry cloth (We will be weaving a 100th anniversary Tapestry during Camporee. Have your girls bring a strip of cloth that symbolizes them to be woven into our tapestry. They can pin small items (swaps or decorations) onto their cloth strip after weaving into the tapestry if they would like.
  • $10 per girl to help with gas for transportation
Once at camp, we will not be able to call parents unless it is an emergency. Hopefully that means that you will not be hearing from your girl until we get back. This is a good thing! :) All the girls did GREAT at he sleepover and I am not expecting there to be any problems or homesickness while at camp. I think we have a great bunch of girls who care about each other very much and they all work to make sure taht everyone feels included and happy.

I would like to stress a couple of rules and would ask that you talk to your daughter about these as well. #1 Absolutely NO electronics of any kind are allowed at camp. This is really important. I would hate to have a super sad little gal because her ipod went missing. Let's just leave them home for a few days. :) #2 Please remember that Flip Flops, Thongs, Sandels od any kind are not allowed at camp. Please do not bring them. Make sure that all shoes are close toed and close heeled. #3 The Buddy System. Please talk to your girl about how important this is. Make sure that they are aware that they need to have a buddy with them anytime they are going to be out of sight for any reason.

Everyone will need to bring their belongings to Mrs. S' house by Wednesday night. We will meet again at Mrs. S' house at 10:15am on Thursday morning. We have to check in at Noon. Therefore, we will be leaving no later than 10:30am. Parents will be responsible for transportaton to camp for any girl who is not at Mrs. S' house by 10:30am. We will be at Camp Trefoil in Provo Canyon. We are one of the first troops to check in, therefore we will be onbe of the last to check out. If everyone can please plan to meet back at Mrs. S' house at 5pm, we will be there shortly afterwards. Please do not be late to pick up your girl. We have alot of cleaning up and putting away to do after the girls leave.

Camporee is going to be a very fun experience for all our girls. They are going to have pleanty of time to form even tighter bonds with each other and make new friends as well. We are looking forward to having a great time with the girls!
